Hip & Knee Procedures

Hip Arthroscopy

Package Price: $9,950

Background: Your physician may recommend hip arthroscopy (“hip scope”) if you have a painful condition that does not respond to conservative treatment options. For select patients, hip arthroscopy may relieve painful symptoms of many problems that damage the labrum, articular cartilage, or other soft tissues surrounding the hip joint.

Procedure: Hip arthroscopy is an outpatient procedure and usually takes less than an hour. A small camera and instruments are gently placed in the hip joint to visualize and treat a variety of hip conditions. With newer arthroscopic techniques, these problems can be treated via two or three very small incisions.

Knee Arthroscopy

Package Price: $5,700

Background: Your physician may recommend knee arthroscopy (“knee scope”) if you have a painful condition that does not respond to conservative treatment options. For select patients, knee arthroscopy may relieve painful symptoms of many problems that damage the internal structures such as the meniscus, cartilage, or other soft tissues within the knee joint.

Procedure: Knee arthroscopy is an outpatient procedure and usually takes less than an hour. A small camera and instruments are gently placed in the knee joint through a small number of small incisions to visualize and treat a variety of knee conditions.
Total Knee Arthroplasty

Package Price: $20,500

Background: Knee arthritis can occur as the cartilage in the knee degrades or “wears out” over time. This can lead to knee pain and dysfunction making it hard to walk and remain active.

Procedure: If a patient has failed conservative treatments or their arthritis is so advanced, a joint replacement may be considered. During surgery, the worn out parts of the knee are replaced with a new and artificial joint. The patient is typically able to walk on the new knee straight away. Many patients are able to leave the hospital on the same day. Both partial and full knee replacements are treatment options. Your surgeon will discuss with you which option would be best suited for you. Many patients are candidates for the use advanced computerized tools and robotic techniques for knee replacement surgery. Our surgeons and facilities utilize the latest technologies to help optimize your knee replacement results.

Total Hip Arthroplasty

Package Price: $21,100

Background: Hip arthritis can occur as the cartilage in the hip degrades or “wears out” over time. This can lead to hip pain and decreased mobility making it hard to walk and remain active.

Procedure: If a patient has failed conservative treatments or their arthritis is so advanced, a joint replacement may be considered. During surgery, the worn out parts of the hip are replaced with a new and artificial joint. The patient is typically able to walk on the new hip straight away. Many patients are able to leave the hospital in just one day.

When appropriate, our surgeons also utilize advanced techniques such as Direct Anterior Hip surgical techniques that may have benefits of reduced pain and recovery time.

Our surgeons and facilities utilize the latest technologies and techniques to help optimize your hip replacement results.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Repair

Package Price: $8,800

Background: The ACL is one of the main stabilizing ligaments within the knee joints. A tear of the ACL may occur after twisting injuries or sporting activities. Some people will feel (or hear) a “pop” in their knee as the ligament tears.

Procedure: ACL reconstruction is recommended in some patients to restore knee stability in active patients. This procedure is performed through small incisions, by inserting a small camera and instruments in your knee (a knee scope). The torn ligament is removed and a new ligament or graft is put in its place. Your surgeon will discuss with you the various different graft types and which may be best suited for your knee.

The surgery usually takes about an hour to complete and patients can go home the same day. Early, accelerated, rehabilitation is started to regain knee range of motion and strength. Return to full activity is can occur in six to eight months following the surgery.

Shoulder & Upper Extremity Procedures

Shoulder Arthroscopy

Package Price: $8,900

Background: Many conditions may lead to shoulder pain. One such source of pain can be the rotator cuff. A rotator cuff is a group of tendons that surround the shoulder joint. Tearing of the rotator cuff can in some cases lead to painful shoulder motion and shoulder weakness. In some patients in whom nonsurgical treatments have not been helpful, surgery to repair of the tendon may be indicated. Most patients with shoulder pain, however, will not require surgery and can be treated effectively with nonsurgical means.

Procedure: During shoulder arthroscopy (or “shoulder scope”), a small camera and instruments are placed in the shoulder joint. This allows the surgeon to inspect the shoulder and if necessary clean up or repair various structures and tissues in the shoulder. The surgery generally takes less than an hour and the patient leaves the hospital same day.

Total Elbow Arthroplasty

Package Price: $25,700

Background: Although encountered much less commonly, elbow arthritis can lead to pain and loss of mobility. Most elbow issues that cause pain will not require surgery when advanced arthritis is present and has not responded to nonsurgical treatments, elbow replacement surgery may be indicated in some select patients.

Procedure: Although elbow replacement surgery is performed much less frequently than joint replacement surgery for the hip and knee, the concepts are similar. The worn out components of the elbow are replaced with a new and artificial elbow joint. The main goal of this surgery is to improve pain. The surgery usually takes less than ninety minutes and patients usually stay just one day in the hospital after surgery.

Total Shoulder Arthroplasty

Package Price: $25,300

Background: Although there are different types of shoulder arthritis, when they occur they often lead to shoulder pain and reduced mobility. Severe shoulder arthritis can be debilitating in many ways. Often patients have substantial pain at night. Shoulder arthritis can cause difficulty with activities such as golf or even more basic activities such as dressing.

Procedure: If shoulder replacement surgery is indicated, the worn out parts of the shoulder are removed and then replaced by a new and artificial shoulder joint. The surgery typically takes about ninety minutes to complete and usually, patients stay just one day in the hospital. Patients can often expect to return to most activities by about 3-4 months following surgery.

Traditional shoulder replacement is typically used for arthritic shoulders which have a functioning rotator cuff. In this procedure, the humeral head is replaced by a metal ball that matches your own anatomy and size, along with resurfacing your arthritic socket with a plastic socket. This plastic socket is attached to your own bone using cement (bone glue).

In a reverse shoulder replacement, the socket is replaced by a metal ball that is attached to your own socket using screws, and the humeral head is replaced by a cup-shaped prosthesis. This procedure is more commonly performed in patients with arthritis and a torn or non-functioning rotator cuff. It is also used in revision cases and severe fractures of the shoulder in the elderly patient.

Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty

Package Price: $25,300

Background: In some cases, large and irreparable rotator cuff tears can occur with advanced shoulder arthritis. This can lead to shoulder pain, weakness, and dysfunction. Although many patients can be successfully treated without surgery, in some cases, a type of shoulder replacement, called a reverse shoulder replacement, may be recommended. It is called a ‘reverse shoulder’ because the normal relationship of the ball and socket parts of the shoulder joint are switched (or reversed) in order to improve the ability of the new shoulder to work and function. Not all patients are candidates for a reverse shoulder replacement and your surgeon will discuss with you what would be best suited for your shoulder and why.

Procedure: Just as in a standard shoulder replacement surgery, if reverse shoulder replacement surgery is indicated, the worn out parts of the shoulder are removed and then replaced by a new and artificial shoulder joint. The surgery typically takes about ninety minutes to complete and usually, patients stay just one day in the hospital.

Regenerative Medicine

As an alternative to surgery, patients can now benefit from regenerative medicine – of platelet rich plasma (PRP), amniotic, bone marrow or adipose stem cells – to treat chronic orthopedic conditions and soft tissue defects. These treatments can reduce pain and provide long-lasting relief from chronic soft tissue pain, early arthritis, and cartilage damage in the joint.

Certain regenerative medicine techniques that have shown efficacy in the scientific literature are offered as options by The CORE Institute physicians. Your physician can discuss with you if these procedures may for you be an alternative option.

Platelet Rich Plasma

Package Price: $1230 – $1330

Description: Platelet Rich Plasma injections, or PRP, is performed in the office. The patient’s own blood is drawn and then “spun down” or centrifuged. This is done in order to concentrate the nutrient-rich portions of the blood that are most involved in the healing process down to a small amount that will then be injected back into the damaged or injured tissue. This is usually performed under ultrasound guidance to ensure the accuracy of delivery and safety.

Lipogems® Injections

Package Price: $3,875

Description: Lipogems is an innovative and next-generation regenerative cell technology that is used to harvest, concentrate, and transfer a patient’s own fat for the repair, reconstruction, or replacement of injured or damaged tissue.

The Lipogems system is used to liposuction fat cells from the patient’s thigh or abdomen after the patient has been prepped with a local anesthetic. The device then rinses and cleans the inflammatory oils and blood from the patient’s harvested fat and maintains the unique regenerative properties of the fat tissue, such as stem cells. This is not intended to reduce the appearance of body fat in the harvest area.

The stem cells are then injected into the injured or diseased site and can promote healing and symptom reduction, as early as three weeks after treatment. Lipogems technology can be used in orthopedic medicine for supporting healing of tissue in the shoulder, knee, hip, and spine, as well as for certain cosmetic applications such as hand rejuvenation (contouring of the hand to improve appearance). The procedure is typically performed in one of the exam rooms at the clinic.

Bone Marrow Concentrate Therapy

Package Price: $4,380

Description: Bone Marrow Concentrate (BMC) Therapy, also known as Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) Therapy, is a cutting-edge regenerative therapy to help accelerate healing in moderate to severe osteoarthritis and tendon injuries. This technology is used to harvest, concentrate, and transfer a patient’s own bone marrow to stimulate healing of injured or damaged tissue. BMC utilizes regenerative cells that are contained within a patient’s own bone marrow. The marrow contains a rich reservoir of “pluripotent” stem cells that can be withdrawn from the patient’s hip bone and used for the procedure.
