About Dr. Lauvao

Lannery S. Lauvao, MD, FSVS, FACS, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex arterial and venous diseases. He is experienced in both open vascular and minimally invasive endovascular procedures, including treatment of carotid disease, aortic and peripheral aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease and limb salvage, venous reflux and varicose veins, and deep vein thrombosis.

Before joining The CORE Institute, Dr. Lauvao served as Owner and Vascular Surgeon at Mana Vascular Clinic in Phoenix. He has also held positions with Phoenix Surgical Solutions, Banner Medical Group, and Southwest Vascular Institute. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in surgical education and leadership, serving as Chair of the Endovascular Committee and as a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center.

Dr. Lauvao completed his fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Washington School of Medicine and his Bachelor of Science in Zoology, magna cum laude, from Washington State University.

Dr. Lauvao is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Surgery. He has been recognized as a Phoenix Magazine Top Doctor, a Physician of Excellence at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, and a Most Compassionate Doctor by the Vitals Patients’ Choice Awards, and was named one of Newsweek’s America’s Leading Surgeons in Vascular Surgery in 2024 and 2025. Fluent in his native Samoan language, Dr. Lauvao has proudly served the Phoenix Valley community for more than a decade.
