Biography

Michael Amini, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, specializing in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow. He cares for patients with sprains, strains, tears, breaks, and arthritis of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. Regardless if his patients want to throw a baseball over 90 miles per hour or just raise their arm above their head without pain, he believes every person deserves the same level of care that is custom fit for his or her needs.

Prior to joining The CORE Institute, Dr. Amini cared for patients in a private practice for several years in Tucson, Arizona. He practices minimally invasive surgical techniques to improve recovery and minimize risk to patients as well as offering Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and reparative treatment options when appropriate.

He received his fellowship training in shoulder and elbow at the Cleveland Clinic. During his time in Ohio, he developed a special interest in shoulder and elbow replacements and continues to conduct research to improve the methods and technology of these procedures.  Dr. Amini completed his residency program and internship at the Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics at the University of Tennessee. During his training, he cared for athletes, including the Memphis Grizzlies basketball team, the Memphis Redbirds AAA baseball team and several high school football teams. Dr. Amini received his doctoral degree and his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

Dr. Amini is an active member of the medical community and academic medicine; holding memberships with the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopedic Association Emerging Leaders Program.

Patient Satisfaction Reviews

The CORE Institute is focused on providing an exceptional patient care experience. To ensure that we are holding ourselves to the highest standards, we measure all aspects of patient satisfaction with the National Research Corporation, an independent patient satisfaction company. This service partnership provides the technology to display ratings on our physician profile pages, and all ratings are verified and submitted by actual patients.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.  These reviews have been submitted by patients as a reflection of their views and opinions. The resulting ratings are not directly endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of The CORE Institute.
